Common uses

This SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) helps to treat social anxiety disorder, OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorders), depression, panic disorder, PTCD (post-traumatic stress disorder), severe forms of PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder). Before using

You must not use Zoloft with/within 2 weeks of taking, any MAOI (monoamine oxidase inhibitor). MAOIs include linezolid, furazolidone, isocarboxazid, phenelzine, moclobemide, procarbazine, tranylcypromine, and selegiline. In case you are currently using any of the medications listed above, inform your doctor/pharmacist before starting to take Zoloft. Directions

Take the medication as determined by your doctor. Read the medicine label for precise dosing instructions carefully. You should take your dose at the same time each day. Keep Zoloft at room temperature at 25 degrees C (77 degrees F) away from heat, light, moisture. Store it in a hermetic and light-resistant container. Save this drug beyond the reach of children and away from pets. Proceed to take Zoloft even provided you feel better. In case you omit your dose, you should take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up. Then go back to your usual schedule.

Cautions

You are not recommended to drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to this drug. Using of Zoloft may result in decreasing of your ability to drive or perform other potentially dangerous activities. This medicine will add to the effects of alcohol and other depressants. Extreme caution is recommended when using this medication in the elderly and in children. If you overdose

As soon as you suspect an overdose, contact emergency room or your local poison control center instantly. Usually, symptoms of overdose include vomiting, nausea, unusual drowsiness, irregular heartbeat, fainting, consciousness loss, etc.

Additional information
